Plot points and key events in chronological game order.
Five years before the main journey, Cassius brings home a badly wounded boy called Joshua. Estelle accepts him as family without knowing that he survived the destroyed village of Hamel and was later conditioned by Ouroboros. In S.1202, the two qualify as junior bracers under Scherazard.
Estelle and Joshua learn that bracer work means protecting civilians, investigating disputes, and earning trust rather than chasing glory. A stolen septium crystal and Cassius’s sudden departure introduce the black orbment and a wider conspiracy operating behind ordinary crimes.
The passenger liner Linde disappears with Cassius aboard. In Bose, military secrecy and General Morgan’s distrust of bracers obstruct the search. Estelle, Joshua, Schera, and the wandering musician Olivier discover that the Capua sky bandits hijacked the ship, but Cassius had already left it before the attack.
In the coastal Ruan region, the pair meet Kloe Rinz and investigate the burning of Mercia Orphanage. Mayor Dalmore’s corruption, the Ravens, and the revived school play show how local power can be abused while Kloe quietly reveals the judgment and compassion expected of Liberl’s future queen.
At Zeiss Central Factory, Professor Russell studies the black orbment and is abducted by the Royal Army’s Intelligence Division. The rescue at Leiston Fortress exposes Colonel Richard’s expanding control, while Agate and Tita connect the national conspiracy to the human cost of Liberl’s past wars.
Because the Intelligence Division has isolated Queen Alicia, the bracers enter Grancel’s martial arts tournament to gain access to the castle. With Zin, Olivier, and their allies, they expose the coup, free the royal family, and prevent Richard from replacing civilian rule with military control.
Richard was manipulated into opening a sealed ancient chamber beneath Grancel. The device there is connected to the Aureole, one of the Sept-Terrions granted by Aidios. Cassius returns in time to stop the final disaster, then leaves the Bracer Guild to rebuild the Royal Army against future threats.
Professor Alba reveals himself as Georg Weissmann, the Third Anguis of Ouroboros. He removes the seal suppressing Joshua’s memories of Hamel, Loewe, and his life as Enforcer XIII. Convinced that he will endanger Estelle, Joshua confesses his love, incapacitates her, and leaves alone.
After Joshua leaves, Estelle initially collapses under grief. At Le Locle she trains with Anelace, learns to resist mental manipulation, and decides that Joshua does not get to choose loneliness for both of them. She returns to Liberl as a stronger bracer determined to bring him home.
Ouroboros openly enters Liberl. Each Enforcer conducts an experiment using improved Gospel devices, testing how ancient power affects people, monsters, and local systems. Kevin Graham joins the investigation as an apparently ordinary traveling priest while Campanella observes for the Grandmaster.
In Ruan, Scherazard confronts Luciola, the former circus sister whose disappearance shaped her life. In Bose, Bleublanc turns theft and spectacle into a challenge for Kloe and the bracers. The experiments are personal by design: Ouroboros uses old wounds to measure its opponents.
Renne befriends Estelle while hiding that she is Enforcer XV. Later, an experiment traps Rolent in a dream shaped around Estelle’s desire for an intact family. Estelle rejects the illusion because love cannot be preserved by refusing reality, a choice that prepares her to face Joshua without denying his past.
Ouroboros uses a Gospel to control the dragon Ragnard. Agate is forced to confront his guilt over his sister Mischa’s death during the Hundred Days War and his fear of failing Tita. The dragon is freed, and the party learns that the Society is probing the mechanisms that once sustained Liberl’s ancient civilization.
Joshua has spent months sabotaging Ouroboros with the Capuas, using the skills once forced upon him. When Estelle is captured aboard the Glorious, he rescues her but still tries to leave. Estelle accepts every part of him without excusing what was done to him, and Joshua finally chooses to return.
The four ancient towers surrounding Liberl become conduits for the Gospel Plan. The party confronts Enforcers at each site while Professor Russell develops countermeasures. The towers open the path to the sealed dimension containing Liber Ark and its Sept-Terrion.
Liber Ark rises and the Aureole absorbs orbal energy across Liberl. Airships fall, communications die, and modern infrastructure stops. The bracers carry zero-field generators between regions while civilians adapt with older tools, proving that the kingdom’s strength lies in cooperation rather than technology alone.
The floating city reveals a society that surrendered every need and decision to the Aureole. Its perfect abundance produced dependence and spiritual collapse, so Celeste D. Ausles led survivors to seal the city away. Weissmann intends to reclaim that power as the first major step in Ouroboros’s Orpheus Final Plan.
Loewe rejects Weissmann after learning the full manipulation behind Hamel and breaks the barrier protecting him at the cost of his life. Estelle and Joshua defeat Weissmann; Kevin later executes him as a Church Dominion. Campanella retrieves the Aureole, while Estelle and Joshua leave Liberl to become senior bracers and search for Renne.
Half a year after Liber Ark, Kevin recovers a dangerous artifact aboard the Lusitania. His cheerful priest persona hides his office as the Fifth Dominion, charged with retrieving artifacts and eliminating heretics. The mission establishes both the Church’s hidden power and Kevin’s habit of turning himself into a tool.
Kevin and Ries investigate the Recluse Cube beneath Grancel Cathedral and are pulled into Phantasma, an artificial realm linked to the Aureole. Sealing Stones gradually restore companions from Liberl, while monuments and planes impose rules that make the group examine memories rather than simply escape a dungeon.
Phantasma recreates places such as Grancel, Golden Road, and the academy, then fills them with copies of allies and enemies. The realm responds to desire and guilt, not geography. Each recovered companion strengthens the party while narrowing the mystery toward Kevin himself.
The Moon Doors preserve longer personal stories: Schera’s childhood in Harvey’s circus, Kloe’s life at Jenis, Tita’s family reunion, Agate’s growing place with the Russells, and Estelle and Joshua’s work after SC. These quieter histories explain who the cast became after saving Liberl.
The records show how Erebonian nobles arranged the massacre of Hamel and blamed Liberl to manufacture a war. Joshua, Loewe, and Karin were among the victims; Weissmann exploited the survivors. Cassius’s defense ended the invasion in one hundred days, but the truth was buried to preserve peace between nations.
Renne was abandoned to Paradise, a lodge connected to the D∴G cult, where abuse and drug experiments fractured her mind. The personalities she remembered as friends were protective constructions. Ouroboros destroyed the lodge and recruited her, but Estelle and Joshua’s refusal to abandon her opens another possible life.
Other Doors look beyond Liberl: Osborne and Olivert formalize their political rivalry, Lechter appears as an unpredictable intelligence agent, and Crossbell’s institutions strain between its powerful neighbors. These records establish the political world the later arcs inherit without resolving it for the heroes.
As a child, Kevin’s uncontrolled Stigma killed his mother and left him desperate for punishment. Rufina and Ries gave him a home, but years later Rufina died stopping another Stigma outbreak. Kevin turned the Church’s Heretic Hunter role into a slow form of self-destruction and secretly wished to be condemned.
The false Rufina ruling Phantasma is a manifestation created from Kevin’s guilt through the Aureole’s subsystem. Ries refuses to let him accept damnation as justice. Supported by every companion, Kevin rejects the world built to punish him, defeats the Lord, and leaves ready to live rather than merely atone.
Crossbell is wealthy, modern, and nominally autonomous, but Erebonia and Calvard dominate its politics, banking, and security. Corrupt legislators, foreign intelligence services, the mafia, and weak police jurisdiction make lawful action difficult. The city itself becomes the central problem the new heroes must understand.
Detective Lloyd Bannings returns home and joins Elie, Tio, and Randy in a new police unit led by Sergei. The SSS is designed partly as a public-relations answer to the popular Bracer Guild, so citizens initially mock it. Shared cases gradually turn four guarded strangers into a family.
The team’s first mission sends them into Crossbell’s underground Geofront to rescue children. Lloyd experiences a vision of the group being overwhelmed without Estelle and Joshua’s intervention, hinting that events around Crossbell are not following a simple linear path. The scene becomes meaningful only as the mystery of KeA deepens.
Conflict between Wazy’s Testaments and Wald’s Saber Vipers appears to be a street feud, but the SSS traces escalating violence to Revache. By treating both gangs as people rather than disposable criminals, the team prevents bloodshed and begins earning the trust that official status could not give them.
A threat against Arc en Ciel draws the SSS into the rivalry between Revache and the Calvardian syndicate Heiyue. The legendary assassin Yin is revealed as part of a conflict shaped by foreign interests. Crossbell’s underworld remains stable only because competing powers restrain one another.
During Crossbell’s anniversary festival, the SSS protects visiting dignitaries and sees the city’s prosperity at its brightest. A smuggling case leads them to a mysterious amnesiac girl hidden in a trunk. They name her KeA, and she immediately becomes part of the SSS household.
Estelle and Joshua’s search finally reaches Renne in Crossbell. Lloyd recognizes that Renne’s clever evasions are a frightened child testing whether anyone will keep choosing her. After the Brights prove that their offer of family has no hidden condition, Renne stops running and goes home with them.
The drug Gnosis grants heightened abilities while destroying judgment and identity. Revache uses it to create enforcers, but evidence points beyond organized crime to surviving members of the D∴G cult. Tio’s reactions reveal that the case is tied to the experiments she endured as a child.
Gnosis drives Revache’s forces into open violence while political protection paralyzes normal institutions. The SSS, Bracer Guild, Guardian Force allies, and former rivals cooperate across jurisdictional lines. Their stand proves that Crossbell can resist corruption only when its divided communities act together.
At the Sun Fort, Joachim reveals himself as a cult remnant who used Gnosis to pursue transcendence and target KeA’s unexplained power. The SSS defeats his transformed body and rescues her. They solve the immediate conspiracy, but KeA’s origin, Guy Bannings’s death, and Crossbell’s political trap remain unresolved.
Erebonia is divided between an old noble order and Chancellor Osborne’s centralizing Reformist Faction. Railways, industry, annexation, and a growing military have made the Empire powerful, but class resentment and regional inequality are worsening. Thors Military Academy becomes a miniature of that conflict.
Sara Valestein gathers nobles and commoners who can use the new ARCUS combat links. Rean’s role is not formal leadership, but his instinct to bridge disagreements makes him the group’s center. Early clashes between Machias and Jusis show how political divisions have already become personal.
Monthly explorations reveal an ancient structure beneath Thors that responds to Class VII. Rean also carries a frightening power that once protected his sister but leaves him ashamed and afraid of himself. His Eight Leaves training teaches restraint, while his classmates slowly teach him that usefulness is not the price of belonging.
The first field study exposes illegal taxes and provincial pressure harming merchants and farmers. Class VII resolves the immediate crisis, but the local noble government avoids lasting accountability. The lesson is that Erebonia’s conflicts are embedded in institutions, not caused by a few isolated villains.
In Bareahard, Jusis confronts the cruelty of his father’s domain while Machias’s hatred of nobles is tested by people who do not fit his assumptions. Their rivalry becomes mutual respect. Class VII begins doing what Olivert intended: creating relationships that cross the Empire’s political divide.
A peaceful region shared by nomadic clans and the Imperial Army becomes the site of a false-flag attack near the Calvardian border. Class VII prevents the incident from escalating into war. The Imperial Liberation Front demonstrates that it can exploit international tensions as well as domestic anger.
During the Heimdallr field study, terrorists strike the capital and reveal the Imperial Liberation Front as an organized force with military resources. The group’s masked leader C frames its campaign as resistance to Osborne, but its methods place civilians and students in the center of a political war.
Legram’s legends connect Erebonia’s present to the War of the Lions and the Lance Maiden. Laura’s discipline is grounded in service rather than status. Emma’s knowledge of spirits and the old schoolhouse reveals that she entered Class VII with a hidden duty tied to Rean and the witches.
In Roer, Alisa confronts how her family company’s technology feeds both civilian prosperity and military expansion. The Liberation Front targets the industrial core, while the Railway Military Police and provincial forces maneuver around one another. Erebonia’s coming conflict is already mechanized.
Class VII’s school festival briefly realizes the unity their class represents. Immediately afterward, C reveals himself as Crow and shoots Osborne. The Noble Alliance occupies Heimdallr with armored forces, the Imperial family is seized, and civil war begins before the students can process the betrayal.
The old schoolhouse opens into the chamber of Valimar, the Ashen Divine Knight, who accepts Rean as an Awakener. Rean challenges Crow and Ordine but loses to their greater experience. Valimar carries him away while Class VII remains behind to delay the Noble Alliance.
A month after the duel, Rean wakes near Ymir separated from everyone he tried to protect. The Noble Alliance controls much of Erebonia, while the regular army and Reformist forces resist. Rean’s first task is emotional rather than military: accept help, recover, and begin looking for Class VII.
Rean travels through Celdic, Nord, Legram, and other eastern regions gathering classmates and allies. Each reunion shows how the war has changed local life. The group rescues Elise and Princess Alfin, gains clearer purpose, and refuses to become a weapon for either major faction.
Captured aboard the Pantagruel, Rean finally hears Crow’s history: Jurai lost its independence through Osborne’s political pressure, and Crow built the Liberation Front around revenge. Rean understands the wound without accepting the choices it produced and insists that Crow still has a place in Class VII.
Olivert’s crimson airship gives Class VII a mobile base under Towa’s command. They recruit Thors students, rescue civilians, and choose operations by human need rather than factional strategy. Their neutrality is active: they oppose abuses by the Noble Alliance while refusing to become propaganda for Osborne’s side.
Class VII supports operations that reconnect eastern Erebonia and weaken the Noble Alliance’s hold. The regular army’s professionalism, the provincial armies’ divided loyalties, and the appearance of Soldats show that the conflict is larger than a school group can solve. Their real influence comes from whom they save and unite.
After residents assist Class VII and the regular army, Noble Alliance forces attack Celdic as retaliation. Civilian deaths destroy any illusion that the October War can remain clean or theatrical. The tragedy hardens Class VII’s resolve without turning their mission into revenge.
Operations in western Erebonia force Jusis, Alisa, and Angelica to confront their own families’ roles in the war. Some nobles resist Cayenne, others protect their domains, and personal loyalties fracture the Alliance. Class VII’s relationships become a political network capable of opening doors armies cannot.
Class VII returns to the academy where the war began and defeats the occupying forces. Reuniting the student body restores their home but does not restore the old year. With the capital still held and Cedric missing, the victory becomes a staging point for the final rescue rather than an ending.
Cayenne uses Cedric and the Vermillion Castle to awaken the Vermillion Apocalypse. Vita’s ritual is meant to force Valimar and Ordine into a Rivalry between Divine Knights. Class VII climbs the transformed castle, while Olivert’s network and the regular army contain the surrounding battle.
Rean defeats Crow but refuses to treat the duel as an execution. The two fight together against the Vermillion Apocalypse, after which Crow dies from his wounds. Osborne then returns alive, reveals that he allowed his enemies to gather before taking their power, and claims the entire civil-war outcome.
After Erebonia annexes Crossbell, Rean is used as the Empire’s celebrated Ashen hero. In the Geofront he encounters Lloyd and Rixia protecting Crossbell’s data and resistance. Their clash makes clear that Rean’s public heroism now serves an occupation he did not choose.
Back at Thors, the class explores the final old schoolhouse and defeats one last trial together. Most members leave early to pursue responsibilities created by the war, while Rean remains under Osborne’s pressure. Their separation is not a failure of the class: its purpose was to send connected people into a divided country.
